Following the New Telegraph online sports news published on the 5th of March 2018, Nigeria won bronze medals at African Fencing Championship. Nigeria was placed at the 5th position in African Fencing as they also got their name on the medal table during the 8th Cadet and Junior African Fencing Championship held at the Sir Molade Okoya-Thomas Indoor Sports Hall of the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos during which Tosan Egbesemirone succeeded in bagging bronze in the Boys’ Individual Foil.
